The First Vietnamese Baptist Church in Albuquerque began in 1994 when a small group of Christian refugees resettled in Albuquerque and met together regularly for home bible studies. In 1996, the group was able to meet in a small chapel of Crestview Baptist Church. They continue to meet and worship Christ despite the fact that there was no pastor. In 1999, Pastor Tan Thai, one of the first members of the church, accepted his ministry and became the first pastor of the Vietnamese Baptist Church of Albuquerque. The Vietnamese Baptist Mission continued to meet at this location. As time goes by and more Vietnamese people settled in the Albuquerque area, the church has grown in number. Hội thánh Tin Lành Báptít Việt Nam Ðầu Tiên tại Albuquerque bắt đầu từ năm 1994, khi có một số gia đình tín hữu người Việt tị nạn đến định cư tại Albuquerque, thành lập một nhóm nhỏ học Kinh thánh tại tư gia. Khoảng vào năm 1996
Từ chổ nhóm thờ phượng Chúa đầu tiên tại Crestview Baptist Church, nhóm tín hữu Tin Lành đã lần lược được sự bảo trợ của New Mexico Baptist Convention từ năm 1996 đến năm nay. Ðến năm 1998, mục sư Thaí Quang Tấn được sự kêu gọi vào chức vụ chăn bầy, quản nhiệm Hội thánh tại Albuquerque. Cám ơn Chúa vì Ngài là Ðấng thành tín.
